Green Game Changers — All 7 on the MTG List (September 2026)
Green has seven Game Changers, and they divide almost perfectly into two jobs: finding a creature, and making more mana than you should have. Four of the seven are tutors of one kind or another and two are mana engines. Green is the colour where the Game Changer cap collides most directly with how the colour normally plays, because "search your library for a creature" is green's basic verb.

| Card | Mana cost | Type | Role | USD |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Biorhythm | 6GG | Sorcery | Win condition | $34.76 |
| Crop Rotation | G | Instant | Tutor | $3.90 |
| Gaea's Cradle | — | Legendary Land | Fast mana | $1638.52 |
| Natural Order | 2GG | Sorcery | Tutor, Win condition | $35.64 |
| Seedborn Muse | 3GG | Creature — Spirit | Engine | $17.41 |
| Survival of the Fittest | 1G | Enchantment | Tutor, Engine | — |
| Worldly Tutor | G | Instant | Tutor | $30.44 |
A deck with even one of these cards is Bracket 3 at minimum. Brackets 1 and 2 allow zero Game Changers, Bracket 3 allows up to three, and Brackets 4 and 5 have no cap.
What each one actually does
- Biorhythm — Sets every player's life total to their creature count. In creature-light pods or against token boards, reduces opponents to zero in a single cast.
- Crop Rotation — One green mana to fetch any land from the deck. Functions as an instant-speed tutor for utility lands including Gaea's Cradle, Cabal Coffers, or Field of the Dead.
- Gaea's Cradle — Generates one green mana per creature controlled. In token and elf decks, scales to 8+ mana off a single land in the same turn it enters.
- Natural Order — Sacrifices a green creature to put any green creature into play. Frequently delivers Craterhoof Behemoth or a creature-based combo piece for four mana on turn 4.
- Seedborn Muse — Untaps every permanent on each opponent's untap step. Effectively four turns of mana availability per round, fueling instant-speed plays and repeated activations.
- Survival of the Fittest — Turns every creature in hand into any creature from the deck for one green mana. Repeatedly assembles creature-based combos in the same turn.
- Worldly Tutor — One green mana to put any creature on top of the library. Finds Craterhoof, a combo piece, or a hate creature at instant speed.
Which green Game Changers to keep at Bracket 3
Bracket 3 allows three Game Changers. In green the useful split is one mana engine, one creature engine, and one tutor matched to what the deck actually wants to find.
- Gaea's Cradle. One green mana per creature you control, off a land. In a token or elf deck it converts a board you were building anyway into a second ramp engine, and it costs you nothing in the deck's curve because it goes in the land slot.
- Seedborn Muse. Untaps every permanent on every opponent's untap step. In a four-player game that is four turns of mana instead of one, and it converts a green deck into an instant-speed deck without changing a single other card.
- Worldly Tutor or Crop Rotation. The third slot is a tutor, and which one depends on the deck. Worldly Tutor in a creature-toolbox build; Crop Rotation if the manabase has targets worth finding at instant speed.
The other four are the ones that quietly move a deck out of Bracket 3 whether or not the count says so.
- Biorhythm. An eight-mana "everybody's life total is now their creature count", which in a creature-light pod is simply "you win". It is also the least-played card on the entire list — EDHREC ranks it 9,834th — which tells you how few decks actually want it.
- Survival of the Fittest. Repeatable creature tutoring for one mana is combo assembly, not value. A deck with Survival is a deck that finds the same two creatures every game.
- Natural Order. A delivery system for one specific creature, usually Craterhoof Behemoth. That is a win condition dressed as a tutor, and it plays like Bracket 4 regardless of the slot count.
Green lost two cards in October 2025
Green went from eight entries to six in the October 21, 2025 update. Both removals are verified green in Scryfall's bulk oracle data:
- Vorinclex, Voice of Hunger (6GG) — an eight-mana Praetor that doubles your lands' mana and taxes everyone else's.
- Food Chain (2G) — a three-mana enchantment that turns exiled creatures into an infinite mana loop with the right partner.
The two were removed for different reasons, and the pair is a good illustration of how the list is maintained. Vorinclex went out alongside the update's other big spells — blue's Expropriate at nine mana, and Jin-Gitaxias and Sway of the Stars at ten. A card that costs eight mana is only warping games in decks that reliably reach eight mana, and those decks are Bracket 4 for reasons that have nothing to do with the card.
Food Chain is the more interesting call. It is genuinely a combo enabler, and Wizards removed it anyway, on the stated basis that the combos it enables are interruptible enough for Bracket 3 and above. That is a judgement about how a card plays at a table, not about its ceiling — the same reasoning that keeps Sol Ring off the list entirely.
Green got one back on February 9, 2026, when Biorhythm was unbanned and added to the list the same day. That takes green to seven — 7 of 53, tied with white, and green is one of only two colours to have gained an entry in the last two updates.
Budget alternatives in green
Green's substitutes sit closer to the originals than any other colour's, because green prints the same effects repeatedly at different rates.
| Game Changer | Budget substitute | What you give up |
|---|---|---|
| Gaea's Cradle | Growing Rites of Itlimoc | Flips into Itlimoc, Cradle of the Sun once the board is wide enough, and Itlimoc taps for one green mana per creature. A functional Gaea's Cradle for three mana and a turn of setup, and not on the list. |
| Survival of the Fittest | Fauna Shaman | The same effect on a 2/2 body that has to survive a turn and can only be used at sorcery speed once. |
| Survival of the Fittest | Evolutionary Leap | Turns a creature into a random creature from the library rather than a chosen one. Repeatable, and the randomness is why it is legal in Bracket 2. |
| Worldly Tutor | Green Sun's Zenith | Puts the creature straight onto the battlefield instead of on top of the library, but only finds green creatures and costs its mana value plus one. |
| Natural Order | Green Sun's Zenith | The same "cheat a big green creature into play" plan at a fair price, without the sacrifice. |
| Seedborn Muse | Wilderness Reclamation | Untaps your lands at the beginning of your end step rather than untapping every permanent on every opponent's untap step. Part of the effect, and not a creature, so removal does not answer it. |
| Crop Rotation | Sylvan Scrying | Two mana, sorcery speed, and the land goes to your hand rather than the battlefield. |
| Crop Rotation | Expedition Map | Colourless, so it works in any deck, at the cost of three mana total and a turn of setup. |
Biorhythm has no substitute and does not need one. If your green deck wants to end the game from a wide board, End-Raze Forerunners and Craterhoof Behemoth both do it, both cost eight mana, and neither is on the list.
Every card in the middle column was checked against Scryfall's bulk oracle data and none of them carries the Game Changer flag, so all of them are legal in Bracket 2.
